thru the years i have found three caches.  two  small and one excellent .  the garrett cx 11 w/ the depth multipliermight beyour ticket.  i use my older garrett ads7 w/ 12 inch coil and i get outstanding depth on ohio river pirate caches.  most people dont realize river pirates operated  over 125 years up and down the ohio river.  all the rock bluffs  still hide thousands of caches. the cx has a great reputation in this type of hunting.  go to kellyco and check it out.

may be a good idea not to forget the giminiIII thats also a two box machine and it may not discriminate but at that depth you can not afford to anyway Amen

The  company that makes the Discovery 900 also made the Whites 808 several years ago. I have read that the 900 was a little more stable at that time. Whites may make there own now, I don't know. There is also the fisher Gemini II and the the Garrett Blood Hound attachments. All these have been use to find caches. If you have it narrowed down it shouldn't take too long to find. Some of these units probably can be rented from a metal detecting store. Good Luck CG

Hi, I read 2-box detectors were too unstable... and I didn?t believe it until I bought a GTI 2500 with depth multiplier... what a piece of garbage. 2 years and still no results (am I dumb? dont think so) I suggest a pulse detector with large coil. I read the Deepers from Mexico is reliable and affordable. Unless you have money to invest and buy an OKM Rover C II or a Nokta.

Perhaps you're not dumb at all. Perhaps there's been nothing there to find.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I think pulse induction detector like pulse star ii or lorenz comes first then the 2-box detectors.
OKM and Nokta very none working over priced machines.

I have a garret 1350 that I bought for 600.00$.  My friend has a white and I should of chose a white, they sound really popular and very good.
You can do better than White's & Garrett.....

A Miner4 would do without a problem. 1mx1m coil would go 3m deep (9 feet) small coil about 1.5m (some 4.5 feet). There is a bogus discrimination available, but it would take you at least a month of playing with it to get to know the detector's behaviour.

Have fun,
d.
