The electroscopes by Thomas may be the way to go.

If the cache is large, then the F75 in all metal mode would work.

My detecting partner just bought a Treasure Baron TF-900 around two months ago and it is a really good and sensitive machine and 5 feet deep is no problem on a can or jar of coins...that thing is light weight and comfortable to carry and use. For years Treasure Baron also built the White's 2 box units--and not long ago they (White's) started building it themselves. The TF-900 can be purchased from the man who owns Treasure Baron FOR ABOUT $499.OO The White's TM-808 unit is higher priced. The TF-900 runs off of 6 AA batteries I belive.

Ok - I'm back with an update!

Sorry it took so long to post again but my search for this cache was put on hold due to health problems. I've had a heart arithmia for many years and it became much worse which put me into the Veteran's Hospital for a week and I?ve been unable to go trekking around in the hills looking for the cache.

I haven?t been idle on my search though.

I have been working with 3 well known map dowsers. I sent all 3 the same map with a 5 mile radius of the area that my research points to the location of the cache. I felt I had narrowed my search to within 100 sq. yards of its location.

What amazed me was their findings. Within that 5 mile radius I sent them to work on, all 3 pinpointed its location within 30 yards of each other and all inside my 100 sq. yard location.

Keep in mind that these 3 fellas dowsed my map separately and independent of each other.

Whether some members here feel that dowsing is a hoax means nothing to me. It?s a tool to help me in my search and I am encouraged with the results these guys came up with.

Also, I now have a detector which I feel will do the job. I purchased a KTS Pulse Induction Detector. PULSE AR lll with large and small coils.

I plan on going to the area within 2-3 weeks to continue my search.

Thank you to all that have posted in this thread. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

Stay safe,

Steven

Im sorry but the dowsing not work good, may be you need use cientific long range locators, I think: UG12, EM16, Gold Gun and others, and next use metal detectors or magnetometer.
