Josey I talk to a Fisher rep today and he said they have sold only 1 f2 since it was put on the market, so guess we will have to wait for your report.

OK I am messing with you the few folks I know who have used one love them. I have field tested a f4 for a few hours and I two thought it was a good machine. BA has a lot of time with the f4 maybe he will pop in soon.

The Fishers are good.....Like Seldom says the F4 is rapidly becoming my detector of choice for day to day hunting....and Bugfly is sure turning up some nice finds there in England with his F4.   So while we aren't using the F2, we can sure appreciate your respect for yours.    Give yourself some more time to get used to it and it will probably pay itself of pretty quickly.....Once it has done that, you can start saving the clad you find for an F4 or an F5.....the lessons you learn on the F2 will carry on to the other members of the family.   But until the machine has a chance to pay for itself, continue to learn the lessons of how to get the most you can out of it....that will make you a better user all around no matter what you swing.

Josey also when and if you upgrade keep the f1 as a backup or at least till your sure you like the new detector. Just today a guy was telling me that he wished he would have keep his ace 250 when he upgraded  now he has a 800 dollar machine  he does not like. So keep your old detector till your sure about any upgrade.

Highly unlikely......especially since many people are using machines 20 or more years old and having great results.

My son just had a new f2 delivered yesterday and it seems to be a well built detector it has the locking collars and several more features that my first detector didn't have and costed him a lot less.
It was to bad to get out with it but we did a little indoor testing and I think he did a good job at picking his first machine the tones was nice and smooth and seems like it's gonna have some decent depth too.

I don't think detectors really get obsolete we the users just move on to new and we hope better  ones. I know several people still using groundhogs and ADS from Garrett so its a personal favorite thing. I still use and like my 30 yo BFO for relic hunting in low trash areas.

Nothing wrong with them, fine detectors, found lots of stuff with them, have had 3, just traded the last off while back, they are OK, no problems, excellent detector Great

Hi Josey,

My brother has an F2.  I think it is a pretty good "grab and go" machine with nice for the price features.  The 9v batteries are also a plus.  You don't have to juggle a handful of AA batteries when it's time to change them.  I also like that it is nice and light weight.  My 2 cents.
