Go Up Go Down

Some dredge tailings I got up close on outside of Idaho City.  They are begging to have a metal detector run over them.

The first 4 photos look like the waste rock piles of Sluice Operations we have here.

Not enough water for a Floating Dredge around here.

Down along the bottom of them you find the odd nuggy or two.

In one place they was right on the source.

Quartz Monzonite.  Quartz Iron Stained with Granite inclusions.

You can pick up chunks of it that the detector just barely notices but contains cool powder Gold crystal within.

You may have something to play with there.

The last photo does look like a small Floating dredge may have been through.

Just my Opinion, (EVERYONE HAS ONE) I would walk the bottom edges and scope it out.

If you start finding gold in any Conglomerate or Host Rock, climb the pile and do the same.

Those boys were getting $16-20 a oz and let a lot of small stuff go over the side.

Over the years weather and time has put most of the gold from the top of those piles , down in the pile or bottom.

I'm betting your going to find a bit.

Thanks for the tips Homefire.  Here is a little creek I'm gonna pan.

Here is Mores Creek along Hwy 21 some very popular spots for fishing and panning.  Up towards Idaho City Mores Creek also has dredge piles on it.

All I can say is dig dig dig down .

That little water fall is because of a bed rock thing going on.

Hit just behind it.

Well the picture of the small waterfall?  We found a claim marker up the road so in doing the right thing, I'm going to have to see where that claim extends to before I go in.  So no news to report on that.  I did go out on a stream today but the only thing I found was more evidence of HUMAN infestation. Angry

Stupid mistake on my part.  Its not a claim notification its an orange placard indicating no tresspassing.  Still learning Idaho law.  On a side note somewhat interesting, I've also been informed that people put up false notices without actually filing the paperwork in the hopes of keeping other people off a good site.
