I mention this because good information can get very lost in an endless thread that has been derailed. Somebody searching for information on the Boer War will get 1 page of useful information and many pages of nonsensical posts. We do have a Chit Chat forum for those who want to have free form discussions.

GD, I have been trying to tell the guys to stay on topic  No no! I do not know what else to do,,,,, even X is totally off topic  Angry

Now back to the Boer war  Welcome Some interesting information,,,,, Did you know that the Kruger Pond gold coin of 1892 is worth a hell of a lot of money? unlike my 1893  No no! Kruger was going to elctions again and as a tool to get him votes, he had coins made in Germany (I think) and they made critical errors on the coins.... He had to have coins made in South Africa in an emergency to get back on track.... The mistakes were wrong axles on the wagon, and the wrong type of wagon, so keep eyes on the look out for a few X  Shocked  Kiss Kiss Kiss will be worth around R42000.00 instead of my R5000.00 for the 1893 coin....

Well I hope to out looking for one soon as I got started putting the VLF together (not easy to make a double sided board) any way there are a lot of fields to detect and there could be some gold coins from the Boer war era and most certainly a lot more artifacts to be found on and around the farm.

not easy to make a double sided board

Use very thin PCBs and glue two of them back to back. Align the boards using the via holes and solder both sides of all components.

Instant double sided board.

Now that sounds like the best idea yet, just have to find some thin PCB. I guess that you would use some epoxy to glue them?
