I will only get the detecting started when I hit Northampton as it is difficult from Pauline's parents to do much as I do not have a car yet, and all the fields are about 4 miles away No no!

near where we will be in Northampton, the fields are just down the road Great

that is ok though, as at the moment we are just sorting our lives out..... Got a great deal on a mobile contract R345 with unlimited calls, sms's and 1Gb data....

Glad you are coming right with the detector board Great

you will soon have something that will work well for you....

I just found that the new version of DesignSpark has a problem with two of the transistors 2n2222 and 2n2907 so when I converted the schematics to PCB it used the base instead of the emitter. Luck for me I spotted it before soldering in all the components but now I have to redo the board (cant fix it, it's a bloody mess) Sad

If I can't just twist the legs around, I cut a trace and use a jumper wire to fix that kind of mistake.

Yes I did think of doing that but there are four of them not to mention that I had a sense of humor failure. I'm just so happy that I saw this before soldering my components so I guess that now I'll have to check the entire board for mistakes. I'm so sorry that I went from version 3 to 4 because three was so good. Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for my check up so I have plenty of time to check the board while I wait LOL Haaa so things aren't that bad after all

It makes you wonder how much more is wrong.... Can you turn them around in the software?

Yes I did sort sort the problem and now the pins connect to where they should but I had to do it to both the transistors so not only was there an error but on two of the transistors meaning that I will have to check everything from now on Angry

any way I'm making a new board and this time a double sided one. I need to make three of these detectors so there is no way that I can have any errors on them.

We are having good rain and boy do we need it LOL the grass is coming up well. Im hopping to be able to start cutting in three weeks time I'll be the cattle will be happy. So tell us when will you be moving to your brothers place? I do hope that he got you a water proof tent though Grin
