O K Guys back to the best. I have the Fisher F5 and that's the best for me! Some of you have a Bounty hunter! some have a Minelab, some have a Garret, some have a tesoro and the list goes on-
The best detector is the one you can afford, and find time to get out there and learn what it's saying to you!

It's like fishing with a 2 lb test line, count on your skills, experience and persistence to land a 10 lb + catch.
Who needs a $1000 + metal detector that will find a pull tab or a gold coin? It should be about the hunt and the enjoyment of searching for something that was lost years ago or something that may actually have some value.
A less expensive detector offers plenty of opportunities & enjoyment. IMO, some of the less expensive machines, (circa $200) can find plenty of lost items and some finds can be very valuable.
Buy what fits your budget and have fun.

I'm still looking for the best.  4 detectors and counting...but then its part of my hobby to collect.  I can tell you the WORST is that dang Micronta 4003!

Man I dont know how many I have had over the years I buy cheap ones at yard sales and off craigs list and then resale after i clean them up etc and make sure they work. the really cheap ones like bounty hunter jr's
I keep to give away when i am at a tot lot etc. and some kid comes along and shows a lot of intrest I will let them use the cheap one if they really show intrest sometimes depending on the kid I wil let them keep it.

this was the very first MD I ever purchased was one just like this one.
