6666, there are a lot of differences. Time will tell where they are and how they affect things.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi 6666,

Yeah initially I have constructed the DP2. but i have burnt the IRF840 and 556 on it... I tried to fix it many ways but finally decided to build DP1 as i have seen some people building the DP1 successfully here.  But unluckily it also failed and now I am trying to fix it.  I am getting lots of ideas from experts like GD etc here.  I dont know how long it will take me to fix it.. but this time I dont want to give up.

Regards
Viswanath M

Hi 6666,

I have used the attached Layout file to solder the entire parts of my DP.  But after GD's advice I have used the schematic which is attached in reply number 44.

Initially I thought that the parts placement diagram and the PCB diagram are all needed for constructing this machine.  But when I had issue GD told me to compare it with the Schematic.

Ok thanks for the layout file
now we can compare apples with apples.

I have extracted the component layout from the file for a part of your pcb
what brand of bc546 trannies do you have ?

If you dont know what brand you have,   have you tested any to determine the leg configuration.

Hi 6666,

Yeah I have tested the legs using my multimeter which have NPN and PNP transistor testing feature(it gives BCE pinouts... and also I have followed couple of other methods which i saw on you tubbe.. MMtr in resistor mode and diode mode and all methods yielded the same results)...  Another thing is I was not happy with the older transistors that I have replaced in my board.... so I brought new Philips transistors, now I will put them on the board which will make me confident atleast about the transistors.

Xaiver,

I got confused when I saw the arrangement in the transistors that I bought.  But now I have relaced them all by new Philips transistors.

6666,

Thank you for the diagrams they helped me lot.

Japanese,

I will check the values you have suggested and get back to you.
