That is interesting about the painting trade. Has it been verified as true, or is it just a supposition or theory? If true, it would definately prove politics played a part and Odyessy could go after the court for that. Of course now the treasure is in Spain, so no way it will come back.

Grampa, as I said, the way a country runs its ecomomy has supposedly no bearing on this case in the courts. Of course, a judge of court may feel pity for a country that needs the money but that is not supposed to be any influence to a courts decision, only the facts.

Ok, so after reading the articles I come to the conclusion that H. Clinton isn't named at all in this, and it is 2010 when these articles were published and the court has since decided the coins fate. So it seems the painting had little to do with the case and it is still in Spain, so maybe someone thought of using it as a type of ploy to make both countrys satisfied, but it didn't work and it is a mute point now. In reality, I guess all is done and we can have 10k opinions but nothing is going to change. I won't buy these 1800-1804 8 reale coins when and if they get offered up by some Spanish company.

Yep!   Socialist breads Poverty.

The Takers start to out number the Givers.

I just did my taxes here.

I have not had a job for the past few years.

Wife is working and paid in $730.00 in Income Taxes.

SSI is still paid.

Unemployment is Paid.

Medicare is still Paid.

All those taxes are paid .    Income Taxes are Game Played on the ones that can afford to pay.   Under $51K No Federal taxes are Due but you get way more then you paid in.

I Go to the Unemploymet office and Jump through Hoops .   The films I have to attend are in Mehican.  I complain and they say OH, We lost the English one.  !   What ta Hell.

If someone who has never worked from Age 15 like me, spent 11 years in the military can get more then Me, Hell Ya, I'm playing the game.



We are getting back $4,000 dollars.  Income the people that pay taxes paid in.

Our tax structure is toalally Screwed.

Sorry to Be the Mooch but if I don't take it someone else will.

You hear all the countries that are saying that this treasure is theirs, I say BULL.
It's just like if you win the lottery , all of your suppose-to-be relatives come out of the
woodwork with their hand out.
Likewise, these didn't go out and find this treasure. They didn't put any of their
capital,ships or people in danger to look for it either. 200 - 300 years later here's my hand fill it .
The treasure was discovered in INTERNATIONAL waters not on the phisical coast of the country.
Even if it was on the claiming country's shore line the I might be inclined to offer them 10-15% max.
