Greetings....your newspaper was an editorial,and was not reporting news. Big difference. Poorly written, there are several mistakes and offers no sources for fact checking.

I rate it as junk journalism and two-steps away from being anti-Marcos propaganda

yes you'r absolutely correct karl, if the folks here will do. but as of this days the customs and traditions is very difficult to understand due to hardships of life and the intense desire to be an instant millionaire is rampant here. thinking of becoming instant millionaire w/out working hard and only waiting for luck is common here.

very sad here in philippines hardships all over the country. even the famous senator/boxer manny paquiao of gen san city (dadiangas) is fighting for poverty for the country. general santos city is one of the famous yammy treas playground. when i was there last week to visit our fishpond yamy treas hunters approached me asking permission to dig inside our farm when i asked them why they want and who told them that there's a yammy treas in our farm the japanese financier of the group told me that there's an old man can pinpoint the exact location.then when i asked him how much he spend to the information he told me almost 200 thousand he pays to the old man group just to pinpoint. ahhhh...very very sad experienced of the foreign yammy treas investor. i let them search and dig inside the farm, after 4 days of search, i heard the japanese said, "bakeru ! he knows now what the yammy treas means in the land of poverty.
