I agree with you, I must admit that i do find some of it offensive, but like you say it is sad, there cant be much
land that they have'nt dug up after all these years. I think these people who scam these honest local people
should be put in jail because those people want to believe it so much that they spend most of their lives looking
when they could be working and finding gold and silver on the beaches lost by tourists.

AU

yup, so many put in jail to that dirty works but it can't stopped because of daily needs and poverty. working on the beaches to find lost gold n silvers is easy but it needs metal detector w/c is costly in here.so only middle class can provide the machine. and one thing that is common here is to have millions w/out spending a single penny. so, dirty works go on.

AU, there is more than just gold and silver lost by tourists in the Philippines. There's naturally-occurring silver and gold as well. On more than one occasion, I've suggested to Filipinos writing in to this forum that they should consider prospecting. NO idea if my typed words have had any effect. However, 3 Pinoys I know in real life have been duly converted from chasing fairy-tale treasure to prospecting.

2 are in Sarangani and one is in Cagayan de Oro. I am pleased to say that they are making decent money from their hard work. And it's 100% more money than they could have made from looking for those nonexistent tonnes of Yamashita gold bars.

yes that's it hobbyist, even me i keep on telling to those people i know yammy treas questors and questress to better go on mining and prospecting, some say's it's a good idea. some say's that's need huge financial. if you are actually here you can see that the financier will not go on the mining site, and the workers will keep on sleeping waiting for the next delivery of their rations and cash advances. so, many of the financiers foreign and local were bunkrupt. in mining site the most rampant there even very risky is the so called "sneakers" w/c is a sneaking to go inside the other tunnels known passed the assay result and stole the gravels inside. they loved to sneaking than prospecting or working to their own. sneaking don't need a single penny...just a skill on acrobatics hehehe..

AU, it's as what Ram described in reply #43. A sneaker is a person(s) who steal ore-bearing earth and rock from someone's diggings. They sneak into the dig site and steal the ore to be processed elsewhere, hence "sneakers".
