Thanks hard luck for posting the articles, good stuff. You can blow off a lot of stuff as urban legends but when the natives like the aboriginals have a name for them like yowies or our Indians with susquash you now have a form of credibility to the story and that is what can make your skin crawl. 2 weeks ago I went to giant rock out at Landers CA. a scientist named van tassel claimed he was in contact with extraterrestrials and claimed they dropped the rock there and they helped him design the Integratron which is to rejuvenate human cells. to me this is all bull except the Indians have been going there for decades because of magical powers they claim are there. enclosed are pics and the one of the guy is real freaky. a friend took these pics about 3 months ago. I wish I knew what the Indians were there for?

The Giant Rock was also been a spiritual site for thousands of years, used by Native American tribes in ceremonies and prophecy. Hopi shamans have suspected since the 1920s that the future of the 21st century would be foretold at the Giant Rock, based on how the rock cracked. In February 2000, a giant chunk of the rock did indeed break off. Spiritual leader Shri Naath Devi interpreted the break in a positive light: "the Mother had opened her arms to us, cracking open her heart for the whole world to see." It is speculated the break was the result of fires burned under the giant rock in what was once Frank Critzer's underground home.

The first two photos are Celestial Observatories.

What's that got to do with Yetties?

You know seldom , you know more than I do and I only live 50 mi away. It is not a celestial observatorie its the integratron, built with no steel in it , its purpose was to rejuvenate the human body. it was built by van tassel who also owned the giant rock at the same time. I mentioned all this to show that there are a lot of weird things in this world that are tied to our native people and when it is there tends to be some truth to it. plus it was a good excuse to post that creepy pic of the guy with the net on his head. well our Indians have the Sasquatch, the Tibetans have the Yeti and now I hear the aboriginals have a yowie, I wonder whats next?

While the rock has been a Native American spiritual site for thousands of years, the modern back story of the boulder begins in the 1930s, when a German immigrant and miner named Frank Critzer met a pilot named George Van Tassel. They became friends and Van Tassel loaned Critzer 30 dollars to buy mining equipment. Critzer then dug out a 400 square foot home for himself directly beneath the the giant rock. This made the locals think he was crazy but since he was known to point a shotgun at those who approached his underground home, no one inquired further. In addition to being a notoriously gruff customer, Critzer was also a radio enthusiast, and is said to have set up a radio antenna on top of the rock for better reception. Don't think old Seldom wants to live under that rock.

It's a major junction of the "Ley Lines". Or for the uninitiated; where earths magnetic lines of force  cross each other, creating a "power vortex". Most Spiritual monuments of antiquity were built on these "power vortexes". i.e.; Stonehenge, Cheops, the Medicine Wheels in Arizona, etc.

Your right ,old critzer had a home under that rock. they say the FBI thought he was a spy so they had him hold up in his rock house trying to get him out, they threw some tear gas canisters in the windows but they did not know he had dynamite under his kitchen table which ended up blowing him to smithereens plus damaging some agents close to the house.the rock sits on dirt not a top of a mountain covered with dirt. my friend also told me the rock is in a power vortex area. this is my point , if the natives knew 2000 yrs ago this rock is in a power vortex and worshiped here , the aboriginals have known the yowie exists and there must be truth to it. In the mid 70's I surfed with 4 Aussies living in San Diego north county and they would tell me stuff about Australia like the great barrier reef and close calls with sharks and having a friends little brother die from a box jelly fish sting. they told me I needed to visit Australia and go into the outback.well the thought of camping in the outback has always give me the willies, I mean crocks, poisenous snakes and now yowies, I think that is awesome that another continent has something equal to the Sasquatch & yeti.these are pics of giant rock plus the quartz hill behind it where the squaws had to stay.

I do not believe fires cracked the rock, you would need a fire almost the size of the rock to heat it up. there is no evedence of fires on that side like charcol or nails from the wood burned. it seems the majority of fires are on the other side. the sad part is landers is like the meth lab capital of the desert. you see new houses deserted full of bullet holes, shot up cars. in fact the one picture of the rock thats not cracked my wife is standing in the middle and the guy to the left is a wigger.he only had a couple of teeth left and his brain seems burnt out by conversing with him.
