Maybe not but if I was shooting you with it, your attitude would change from aggression to self defence!    Grin
I think you just added another way that metal detecting can definately be fatal. Shooting a bear with a .22  Let us know how that works out for ya next time you run across a bear. I highly doubt that ANY handgun round is going to kill a bear before he can get to you and do serious damage and one that's pissed off can move pretty fast. Anything less than a high powered rifle is a gamble.

Shot placement is everything.. Cheesy  Your link isn't working for me but I did figure out how to survive a bear attack with nothing more than a .22 pistol. You shoot your treasure hunting buddy in the kneecaps when the bear charges and while the bear is eating your buddy you make a run for it...

Being born is fatal!

Living is fatal as we're all gonna die!!

You can go through life afraid of shadows, or you can live and be as careful as your intellignce, experience, knowledge, can allow you.  Or you can live in a bunker and die when the folks around you decide it's your time (Howard Hughes).

Yes all the previous issues are issues of concern. Rattlesnakes, coral snakes, poison ivy, ticks, and Lyme Disease are my biggest concerns when in the field. I always get clear permission to hunt so that is not a concern. Being in the woods in hunting season can be a concern but orange vests and makeing noise to scare game and hunters away works. Anything has its risks.  Minimize them and make the best of life.

You know I guess if you are in Florida it could be fatal, I hear about golfers and lightning, wouldnt a metal detector be about the same.

I will have to remember that about shooting your buddy in the knee caos to get away from the bear, could come in handy, you never know.LOL

Gotta say that if your gonna pack heat you might as well bring something along that'll no doubt do the trick. Why slap someone who wants to kill you when you could knock em out cold with a closed fist.  Stupid analogy but I think you get the idea   Grin
