It would really be best if you look in the Beginners Board.

It will give you a better feel of Detecting.

Ok. Thank you homefire for your help.  Smiley

I'm trying to get as close to the point as i can. Really. I'm trying to learn something without wasting hundreds of hours searching between tons of useless information.

At least could anyone give me some specific subjects i could read ?
At least could anyone tell me where i am wrong in my specifications ?
Anyone that could help me, please, to choose something that i really need and not something that is fancy ?
Any suggestions are welcome. ANY.

Thank you all in advance.

Krampits! Welcome from the state of Kansas! Your English is excellent and there is nothing wrong in your specifications. Homefire is steering you right, please be patient. It is easy for us to understand what you are trying to do "but" there is no machine that will do the mundane, finding coins and surface gold and the (almost) impossible, finding nuggets at 10m through rock. The Minelab or fisher seems like good all around choices to work streambeds "sniping" for gold with a small coil and then out to the beach for jewelry and coins with the standard coil. But when you talk about the kind of deep search you describe, I advise you to wait until your experience and skill set can keep you from making some seriously expensive mistakes. There are those who prey on others and sell machines that are not effective. keep reading the threads and you will see all kinds of machinery discussed at length here.

Hi krampits

Honestly I have never bough a metal detector so I can't help you decide on one to buy but I have build and still build metal detectors with great passion and one thing that I have found is that at most times you don't really need a great depth of detection but what you do need is a stable and reliable machine. As for all them fancy things like a GLCD or a voice that tells you what you have found is just a gadget. I have build a detector with an LCD and I only look at it to see what the voltage is the rest I do by ear and that beets any device that I have ever heard of. So here is my 2c worth get a detector that will detect at a depth that will suit your detecting environment for example here in South Africa a detector that will detect at 200mm is more that ample but perhaps where you are you will need one that will go deeper. Here is a pointer for you, there are quite a few of the older type detectors that will equal the depth of the new detector but don't have all the bells and whistles if you can get one of them and you can master it then I think that you will be quite happy.

All the best
Xavier PS  make a new thread and ask for a detector that could be for sale never know what you could be offered

Wow you have quite a list there of some pretty pricey detectors.  Lemmi throw in my 2bits.  I have been happy with the Jeotech detector for small gold and very big targets deep in the ground.  I have had the detector for a year and I'm in the process of moving up the ladder from the same company.  The void detection thing is the coolest feature.  Lately it came in really good order when I was asked to find a fibreglass septic tank in a back yard.  Worked like a charm.  It is very sensitive and ground balancing is a technique learned over time, but worth it in my books as it runs with the two box detectors and can still coin shoot.

Left or right, it does not matter.  Works both ways.  Just like your socks!

According to what I can see on the photo all the pot's are on the left side of the machine in other words, a left handed person would have to have a rubber right arm to have access to the controls NOT like a pair of socks in my opinion

OK let me set the record straight.   The Ground Balance toggle switch is right in the middle of the hand grip, but  the Ferrous - non Ferrous button is on the left hand side.  I have used it on both hands and with the left hand I do need to bring my thumb over to get the button, but it is not such a big deal because when I need it I'm already excited to see what it is that I found!  So I don't even think about the strenuous activity of thumb cross-over.

I am more than sure the guy who designed this handle spent a little too much time playing MS Flight Simulator.
