Go Up Go Down

Hi to all.

First, i would like to ask you to forgive me for my bad English. Next, this is my situation. I'm completely newbie in metal detecting. I love the whole idea of "treasure hunting", which means that i need a machine to do so. I 've found several machines, expensive or not, but i don't understand the technical data. The location i will start from is a small rocky mountain with lot of underground rivers and i don't know what i'm looking for and in what depth. My next target area is a sandy beach. So, as you can see, my target areas is a mix of terrains and my target prey is something between a little coin to a gold mine, (actually, this is what i'm praying for  Cheesy Grin). As for the depth, from 4 inches to 30 feet. So, here it comes. Which machine, hands down, is the best that suits me ? I 've seen some of them but, as i said before, i don't really understand the technical data. Some of the machines i've seen are :

1. Nokta Golden King DPR Plus
2. Minelab GTX 5000
3. Fisher CZ-21 Metal Detector

and others.

Thank you in advance  Smiley

Krampits, welcome from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon!   Welcome   I don't really know anything about the 3 machines you specifically asked about, but be patient.  Soon there will be people responding who know the information you want!  By the Way, your English seems great!

Welcome and good luck with your information search and your treasure hunting!!             Detecting

Welcome from New Mexico.

You really need to give more info on your location and type of hunting here. Cool

ArfieBoy, thank you very much for your reply and your kindness.

I do understand that you don't really know the detectors i've mentioned, (and i appreciate your sincerity), but i 've mentioned them only as a reference. Not to necessary pick one of them. So if you have another suggestion that you think it will suit the needs i've said in my previous post, it would be much much appreciated.

Thank you once more.  Smiley

homefire, thank you for your reply.

I 've described the location i want to start from, which is by the way in southern Europe. But i suppose i've been misunderstood. I don't want something only for the location i want to start from. Pretty much, i want a good all rounder, accurate as i have absolutely no experience in treasure hunting, capable of detecting in good depth, (at least 2m and not more than 10m i suppose), capable of detecting by salt or fresh water, (no need of diving capabilities though), and finally capable of detecting small valuable objects, (gold and silver Huh?). Any suggestion would be appreciated.

(at least 2m and not more than 10m i suppose)

There are a number of PI detectors that would work that deep in water.

The Minelab you mention is not a water machine.

homefire,

not in the water, by the water.

I've read somewhere that some detectors do not perform as they supposed to when someone use them near the water. I don't want that because there are plenty of underground and overground rivers at the location i'm going to start from.

homefire,

Don't get me wrong. I don't really know how deep is deep enough. I don't have any experience in treasure hunting and the location is completely unexplored. So I don't know what someone could hope to find in this land. I thought that the deeper a detector can get, the more accurate it is. Maybe i'm completely wrong. And by the way, when i said 10m i didn't mean for a coin. i meant something like a gravel, (20m x 20m x 20m), or greater, (Hopefully  Cheesy). Is this too much ? Tongue What do you have in mind ?

Thank you for your replies.  Great

homefire,

Let me put it this way. In your opinion, which all rounder detector would you suggest me to begin with ? I don't want to pay for something fancy. I want to be as accurate as it can be though. Is there a detector that can distinguish a small golden ring that lies besides an empty big can? If a detector costs more because of an lcd 3d screen and nothing more, then i would prefer another one that costs less, has the same or close specifications but it doesn't have the fancy screen. Take out of the equation the depth i've mentioned. Give me a table for depths that the detector could find what object.

Hope this can help you, (in order for you to help me  Grin).
