Which Vlf machine, (from the machines you know), performs better in discrimination between metals, especially for gold, and in depth ?

None of them, really, at depth. Your quest for discrimination will send you on a fool's errand. Please read this thread:

So, from what Xavier and GoldDigger1950 are saying, the best choice is a PI machine. Right ? So the discrimination does not really exists, or it is useless in most cases.

If that is the case, which is the PI machine that you would recommend ?

Thank you in advance...

Well there are PI machines that will indicate a ferrous or a non-ferrous metal which in my opinion is great because YOU now make the choice to dig or not to dig unlike discrimination that would mask that signal. Now you want to know what machine to get well I would advice you to get the best that you can afford but not necessarily one with loads of bells and whistles, but rather a machine that will give you the required depth of detection with just the right size coil. There is no point in getting a machine with a coil so big that you will detect a tank at 20m but will miss your initial target. Try and find one where they offer two or better three different size coils that will go with it as that will give you a much greater scope to work with. I have heard good things about the delta pulse so perhaps it would be a good starting point to start your investigation just don't be hasty remember your treasure has been there for a very long time so take your time to make the right choice.

All the best
Xavier

A PI machine is best for WHAT YOU DESCRIBE. Discrimination is not useless in some cases. For example, you are looking for a lost ring dropped 10 minutes ago in an are 12 by 12 feet. THEN discrimination can help you find the ring if you don't misuse it. If you are searching for lost coins only, you're still better off without discrimination because smaller coins or nickels can be eliminated by accident if you set your machine wrong.

The truth is, discrimination is not perfect and can cause you to miss some valuable items. All of the folks here with more than a few weeks under their belts have come to the conclusion that digging every target is the only sure way to treasure.

Ok. Now i have the feeling that we 've c [pray]ome to the mattresses...  Clapp

Thanks for your advices Xavier and GoldDigger1950..  Pray

Now, as i said before i am completely newbie to the "sport". So, i would love to use your knowledge, if it's ok by you, to decide a machine like Xavier described, "the best that you can afford but not necessarily one with loads of bells and whistles". That's what i also want and need. Could you propose a machine like that to me ??

Thank you a lot guys...

HOooo mate that's something that I do not do, see if you should be unhappy with your machine you'll say that I told you to buy it then we would argue and then we would become enemies and we do not want that now do we. So here's the deal go to a detector shop speak with the sales man then go to another shop and do the same You'll see you'll get the right machine  Smiley

I agree with Xavier, we cannot recommend a specific machine, but can only offer guidance as to what type of machine would best suit your needs..

Like i said on a previous post ...

"(or go to a shop and air test several models with a gold sample i.e. a large gold ring/bracelet ) and air test to a range/depth that you are happy with then go out and dig everything.."

if you explain to the shopkeeper(s) what you are trying to do and the ground conditions they should be able to help you in choosing your first machine.. but like xavier said it does not need a load of bells and whistles.. just needs to do the job of finding what your looking for...  if they cannot help you .. go somewhere else. if you can fins a couple of specialists all the better .. you may be able to play them off against each other to get a good discount  Smiley Smiley

I understand and appreciate that Xavier and Lord Dragon.

Don't give me a specific machine. Just tell me which brands usually give decent machines, cause i've already gone to 5 shops and i had 5 different opinions and not even one had the same brand as the others. Everyone of them tried to sell me a machine that gives him more profit. And the most important, i don't know what type of coil i need. Double D etc. If it's difficult to you to propose some brands, then give me some technical data that i could search for and that according to your expertise could help me.

Thank you in advance...

homefire, in the order you've mentioned them ?

What about technical data ? Should i double check for something in the technical data area ?
Coil ? Any coil is the same or should i prefer something like double D coil ?

Thank you man...

PS. By the way, what did you mean when you 've said "Anything less then 12us is too late for small gold Items" Huh?
