Gd I have tried dowsing with positive results, Seen it with my own eyes. If it didn't work then why would people persist with it for hundreds of years.

I've seen it tried hundreds of times. I make a hobby of it. I've seen it work once for finding water. But then drilling anywhere on the property later produced water. No miracle there. No matter where we drilled, there was water.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

It won't matter at all. Without scientific double blind testing it's just a believer's word for another unproven dowsing session.

Art, the second article was published almost entirely by citing the first article. In the first article, the write admits the entire series of events was using empirical data and not scientific testing. He sites the results as being astounding but has no baseline to which they can be compared. Thus, the data is just "astounding" but not proof of dowsing. Because the second article simply uses the first article as a reference point, it is the typical circular logic used all the time in the dowsing community.

The last item is a Wiki entry. You do realize that a Wiki entry can be edited by anyone who passes by. I could actually go there and add a sentence that says, "Art on the THunting.com web site says this entire article is a load of rubbish!" and it would be there for everyone to read. Wiki is not a reliable source. Add to the fact that the references there are from a fringe web site and you have the entire picture. Or at least those with a scientific mind do.

Nothing you cited is proof of dowsing working. It's all anecdotal. But if it pleases you, that's just wonderful.

Scientific method refers to a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge

observation or experiments.[1] Empirical data is data produced by an experiment or observation.

In an article published in the current issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Scientific Exploration, a science journal with the editorial offices at Stanford University, Professor Hans-Dieter Betz, a physicist at the University of Munich, presents the results of a German government sponsored program to test and apply dowsing methods to locate water sources in arid regions. This ten year project involved over 2000 drillings in Sri Lanka, Zaire, Kenya, Namibia, Yemen and other countries and is thus the most ambitious experiment with water dowsing ever carried out.

Nothing you cited is proof of dowsing working. It's all anecdotal. But if it pleases you, that's just wonderful.

There's plenty of water in the Sahara Desert if you dig deep enough.

As a mater of fact, there's lakes in some spots.

 Huh?
