Well not sure about it now, but for a while there it was more of an eyesore than a tourist attraction.

I understand the city has payed out huge $$$$$$ since i was down there last and made it a really pretty

place to visit, but at night it seems to be invaded by the thugs and wanna be gangsters and druggies.

here is a current pic of it now ,

back when i was there last they were just starting the expansion of the river walk and cleaning it up and making it an attraction, for years it was just the river area for thugs etc.

now it's a beautifull place so i hear, I also understand from a friend who lives there it's just certain areas of the riverwalk that is bad now and not the whole river walk, either way - I would still be packing a side arm. ( but thats just me.)
