Hello,

There is an 'Eagle' light version which is free that may be enough for the small boards. its easy once you get the hang of it. The limit is the size of board.

I have used (and got hooked on) Pads, today owned by Mentor Graphics. The demo version is free, courtesy of Mentor. But its very limited on component count, otherwise its superb. In fact I don't like using other software.

I got round that by splitting boards, which is not so bad since I do make mistakes and prefer to redo a section. also easy to make/repeat sections using different hardware or new cct arrangements.

Both print via ordinary inkjet HP printer to A4 tracing paper for photo developing

Re chemicals for etching, ferric chloride found best. The more so since once the solution is used up it is regenerated. Over time some evaporates; just add water.

regards

Thank-You mdiede57 , oldsparksand everyone for posting links to Freeware !!! . I made a mistake when I typed this Topic Title , I should have typed "PCB Layout Freeware and full Version Trialware" . The only one who can edit topic titles is Christian . I will send him a PM and see if the title can be corrected . I know there is some fantastic PCB layout software out there "that is Free" and that is the purpose of this topic , My fault I didnt say so in the first place !!!  Everything posted so-far is good , no complaints .
On this Forum everyone gives different suggestions which is great . Also on the Forum are some people trying to sell you a product which has been accepted . I am trying all the Freeware , free stuff first , "in this bad economy" the money I save will buy Extra Parts that will build more MD projects .
HH.........Eugene

Go Up Go Down

Hi;

I have a question for ANYBODY---- has anybody had any problems down-loading expressPCB or pad2pad??

I get a partial download and it cancels, when I click on the cancel button in the down load manager, it then resumes, and says it down loaded, but it is an empty shell of zero bytes.

I reset my security level, which, somehow, got put right to the top, and have not tried it again. I was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar.

I just updated my FireFox, a few days ago and was wondering if it was a bug....

And.... oh Lordy.... I made it through the virus storm yesterday, even with quadruplicate emails, but no virus.

homefire;

Mine down loaded OK, its just empty! It may have a connection with yesterdays virus attacks, so i will try again later, after I catch up on the forum-nation. Funny
