Decoupling capacitors - go for 100nF (0.1uF) parts, fit one as close to the IC power supply pins as possible. Then fit a couple of 33uF or 47uF capacitors at either end of the power strips.

1N4148 is a general purpose signal diode. You should find these at all electronic components suppliers, they've been around for years.

Hi Edouard, Please find attached the Farnell UK part numbers.
I believe they are the same as the Farnell France numbers.

You will see that I have also marked the part numbers for IC sockets and signal diodes, plus the correct way around the diode is fitted.

With the capacitors I have allowed for a spacing of 5mm between the legs, except the large value ones. In fact I think they will also be 5mm.
The pF capacitors may have a leg spacing of 2.5mm, I have not checked.
You can bend the legs to fit, but not too sharp a bend.
As Colin says, for capacitors any voltage over 9v, just check the leg spacing.

The components are fitted on top the tracks run underneath, left to right.

All the best Mike.

I noticed I wasn't very clear on the decoupling capacitors - the 100nF parts should be mounted as close to the power supply pins of each IC. Sorry if it caused any confusion. Mike's Farnell list is useful - if you aren't getting from Farnell, you can use their website to get the manufacturers part numbers, etc for going elsewhere.

I might look at making one of these myself. One thing I haven't found is the coil winding info - number of turns and wire size.

Colin
