Hello Eugene,
I hope this is not too confusing,
The original schematic came from the

www.geotech1.com
website under schematics and is titled ?Bandido II uMax (PDF-34K, 300dpi)
The problem was that the IC no.?s and some component values were not included on the schem.  As I did not know about ?Thunting? at the time, my only way was to mark them on myself. Luckily most of them tied up with schem. you posted ?.(I couldn?t change them once I?d laid out the stripboard).

Eugene, if you look at the my first post on ..page 1.. of this subject you will see the schem attachment with my pin no.?s marked on it.
I used the ?Bill of materials? from? Surprize_!!_Its_a_Bandido?    so the component values are correct.

To make things simple, when talking to you about the circuit in future I will use ..your.. posted schematic?s Pin configuration.

Confused you weren?t before, but you probably are now.
All the best Mike.

Hello again Mike . If you have problems optimizing the circuit with your oscilloscope then use the capacitance values posted on the lastest schematic called bandido2 mod , a few posts ago ...............Regards........Eugene

Hello folks,
I have just found a basic mistake on the ?Stripboard layout? and it is probably why my ?Discriminate? doesn?t work.
On IC8, pins 5 & 6 are transposed, pin 5 should be on the + and pin 6 should be on the ? of the IC inputs.
My fault entirely?.Sorry?
Fortunately it?s quite easy to remedy here?s the instructions :-

Remove IC8 (socket).
Remove or cut the link between pin 2 and pin 5.
The link coming from IC10 pin 7, moves from IC8 pin 6 to pin 5.
Replace IC8 (socket).
Fit a link from IC8 pin 2 to pin 6.

Job done.

I was checking the component values with Eugene?s more up to date schematic (see post reply no. 109) when I noticed the mistake.
There is also the addition of a Battery test circuit on his schematic, which is optional. I will probably add this in later, it should fit on the ?Stripboard layout? in the bottom right hand corner.

All the best Mike.

Hi David,
I think you are right, the brackets mean ...momentary ON... from Maplins.

Be careful what you order I ordered Part No. 155-0083 from Farnell, expecting a sub miniature ON-OFF-MOM... But it was an ...Ultra Sub Miniature PCB mounted switch with no thread... it was the only switch of that type I could find in Farnell. The details weren't at all clear.

I hope that helps regards Mike.

Hello . 1. On the IC pin connections , If in doubt always check the integrated circuit pdf data sheets ..... 2. And the switch "on-off-on" will be fixed or locked on each side of the "off position" unless it says momentary contact on just one side which is spring loaded ....Regards....Eugene

Sorry to confuse you David.
My  ? Stripboard layout ?  was designed using an older schematic which did not have any pin no?s marked on it, so I had to add in my own and that is why they are different. I cannot change them now, because the whole Stripboard would have to be re-done.

You need to continue using MY original layout in  ? POST 1 ? of this topic.
Don?t forget the track cut ( Column 18, Row 20 ) mentioned in  ? Reply 40 ?  and the recent mod. In ? Reply 112?

Don?t worry the ? Bill of Materials ?   has the correct values, you will find that capacitor values C10, C13, C14, C16 & C18.  have changed and are updated  on the B.O.M.
When I get around to adding the ? Battery Test circuit ? I will post a  ? Revision 2 ?  of the  ? Stripboard Layout ?  with all the changes included.

All the best regards Mike
