No,that is a different detector. I have no idea why the originator of the thread used the same name as an existing model.

Mudflap, THIS thread is fine. The other one referenced has a SIMILAR name, but not the same name.

The moderators have discussed this problem of which version is most current and which name is right or wrong on the moderator's forum. Eventually, we may pull down each model by itself, check it all out, and make a non changeable (by users) section in downloads to avoid any problems like this. Stay tuned!

Thanks GD. Ordered one of these puppies today. Now have to find a chunk of ferrite for the pinpointer loop. 40 or so years ago I would have a bunch of am radio ferrites laying around. Now seems only place to find them is from Russia on eBay. Could strip one from my Sony 2010 SWL or maybe the PRD5.... nah... No no!.....

What items can you find ferrite in?

You will find ferrite rods in radios. they are the black rod with a coil or two or more of very thin wire wound around them. They are situated close to the aerial at the top of the radio and sometimes on the side. Beware they are very fragile, if dropped will break like glass.

I have one from a pinpointer I built, but I didn't know what all they came from. I knew radios, but I wasn't sure if they were in other devices as well.
