Hello all

Here is a picture of the alleged Tomb. You will notice some interesting items there.

If the remains has been moved at least three times. With so much contamination of 3 moves It will be hard to much archeology on this to determine authenticy of the site. Does the book mentions the approximate dates the remains where removed?

All moves I presume were before 1900?

Thanking you in advance.

Hardluck  Huh?

Hello HardLuck,

Info taking in the book:

There is no mention of the dates of moving body, because in reality this information is provided by a message from Sauni?re placed in a bottle (bottle third discovery) and found buried by Ben. In this message it says
"Hidden three times was his body".

Luc

Thanks for the update Luc. Smiley

So I have a question or two. While I found evidence of mummification in France, there are only a couple cases I see. This would seem rather rare for a body to be mummified in the cave conditions plus we have indication it was moved prior to internment in the tomb. Do you know of any other examples of this? The two shrouds certainly give one ideas that this was someone who came from or did something in the holy land either during the crusades or possibly before if it is indeed Mary. That would be an incredible find on so many levels.

This tomb resides on private land? Does that provide the owner with the right to grant or deny access or does the gov have authority to excavate anyway? I would guess antiquities of this nature become the property of a national heritage department? Are they required to sell the items to the authority or do they have carte blanche to just take what they feel is heritage material?

Hardluck might there not be a notation in the tomb? Provided the entombers knew who it was which I would assume from the items associated, I am speculating that this was not done in haste for the same reason. I'm hoping that either the chests or a carved inscription in the rock itself might provide some of those answers.

Hopefully soon something will come to light.

So it has been almost a year and a half since the planned excavation. Has anything happened since then? Whats taking so long?

Hi all

Many questions remain unanswered. I just sent an email to Ben Hammott.

I ask him some precision:  "on the ground where the grave, he belongs to a private owner or is it part of a communal plot?
How comes it that you have not yet received authorization from the DRAC to update this fall. "

If I get an answer to my request I'd share with you.
Yours sincerely

Hi Idaho Jones

Something must have happened as one of the pictures is of Mr Hammett with a chest I am assuming came from the tomb?

Concerning your question, the chest was discovered in another small cave, but not that of the mummified body.

In this chest thought it was different things:one Cup, one ointment jar, one glass vial and the collection of coins.

All the best

Luc

Ah that clears it up. Wonder how many other tombs might be in the area? Thanks Luc!

Good morning all,

To answer in Idaho Jones, in the different encoded messages, the author or the authors of the different messages speak about Corpus Christi and about MM (Mary Magdalene). A cave was found with it seems to be a body indoors (but no direct search was made). If he ya another falls hereabouts, nothing specifies him at the moment, knowing that according to Well Hammott, in the second chest to be discovered, would be put of documents templars. Affair to be followed......

I also put a lot of photos of different caves around "Rennes Le Ch?teau". All cavities were not photographed.
Best regards

Luc
