BA, I've been looking for a open-can-of-worms gif for a while now. I had never seen one but I knew there must be one out there. You see great minds think alike. Any chance you can add that to the smilies for this board? gambol

No reason why we can't ask Christian.

Might as well put my two cents in. No no! I for one don't like the copies(clones) that are coming out of China. They seem to work fine for a while but according to some of the other forums, they break down MUCH more than American made detectors.  Angry I'll stick to the good old USA companies. don't want to  Violent the Chinese, but then USA detectors just have a Much better reputation for working. and working, and working.

You can see on this link what the Chinese are advertising , I think they are desperate for business due to the bad world economy !!

Eugene, I looked at the link and found it very interesting.  Did anyone else look at it?  Did anyone else notice the use of alternate spellings for the detectors that make you think they are the original brands?   Slightly devious in my opinion.    Huh?  Angry

As with most things in life you get what you pay for. There are few shortcuts to quality. America is still an innovator of new technology but companies sell out fast for a quick buck and produce it elsewhere. I prefer to buy based on highest quality in my price range whenever possible, regardless of nationality. Fair competition will sort out the winners.

There is an old saying regarding tools that I believe will apply to detectors....

"The most expensive tool you will ever buy is a cheap tool.... You'll replace it many times.

If you buy a QUALITY tool, you'll have it forever".

I believe this applies to many things in life. You must pursue quality FIRST.

Mudflap, that may be true.  Although, RidgeRunner from Australia was willing to accept it at the rope party!  But I believe he was more interested in the corn products!  LOL!    Grin
