Mr.Goldfinger:
Why don't you and I meet? You sound like you visit Az. during the winters!
I'll be out there sometime around the middle of Nov.
I am always looking for a "partner".. !
You can make it a short or long trip !
I'll be out this yr for about 10-12 mos !
Me'n Randy, will be glad to take you way deep into the Mnts.
I need to return to Haunted Canyon anyway!
I know of a road that is within a couple of miles of it!
You can have a look for gold bearing deposits/evidence yourself..
I know where there is a covered up mine ?
In La barge Canyon !
Or, Near by, there's a big Black Boulder, with "NE ORO" written on The Very top of it!
OR!
You can join us for a recovery trip down in So. Az. !
Only, This trip comes with an element of danger !   :-
These "locals" will be glad to have you come along !
AND!
We have room!

Right!  "Randy " ?
      H-LL !
I'll even supply the weapons/ammo.   Grin

A Doberman dog? How old is he? Very beautifull dogs they are! I've however heared they are pretty sensitive and will require quite some expirience.

The lazy Taya dog only requires lot's of sleep   Smiley

Go Up Go Down

ROADS WAS!   Cry
Three years old ! About 120 lbs. A Red Dobie !
& Totally devoted !
As A Guard Dog, I have never had his equal !
His Guard senses were out of this world!
One Time,
We just pulled onto a small Mesa !
It began to rain..
So! He & I stayed in the JEEP (4dr Wagoneer),
I slept in the back and he in the front seat!
About 2 AM, He "Alerted"
I looked out the window, around the area, w/floodlight and saw nothing!
He then, gave his "It's Close" Alert !
He had "three" different alerts, depending on how close something was!
I knew then, that there was someting out there!
So!
As Much as I hated to ! I got dressed, picked up my trusty 44 !
And got out !
Nothing around the JEEP !
Nope! He said ....there's something there !
I walked to the edge of the mesa, shined the light down, and SAW!
TWO! Ring Tailed Cats!
How in the world, could he have smelled or heard two RingTail Cats, about the size of a Bobcat,
walking around the bottom of the 100 deep canyon, 200 yds away from the Jeep, during a slight rain, AND with the windows up!
This was just one of several suprises like this !

"Bugs"
On the other hand ...
Is A:
100% "Red Bone" (a type of Blood Hound)
He's a 1 yr & a 1/2 old, weighs in AT! 110 lbs
AND!
Still Growin'
He Dad is 152 lbs and I think Bugs is out to, out do him!
He eats two lrg dog cans dogfood, 22 oz ea (total 44 ozs) for breakfast!
Then, he snacks all day long! On dry food !
In the evening, I, mix, a lrg can with a can dryfood and warm water, makes a gravy !
AND!
He thinks He's Starving !
He never gets FULL !
Once, just to see how far he'd go...
I fed him, at one meal, "7 large" cans of dog food !
I think he'd have eaten more,
BUT!
I was wornout opening cans !
BUT!
He's well worth the effort !
I had him out when he was about 8 months old and he was really getting into the living outdoors, with "Dad" !
He's going to be another great security dog !
BUT!
He IS! THE! TOTAL HOUND!   :Smiley
Big floppy ears, a low pitch Howl, that can be heard into the next country, a very irratating "Whine", when he wants something
AND! Stand back when he shakes his head...
Slobber goes everywhere!
& of course,
A tail that wipes out anything in it's way!
ALL OF THIS,
I find out is typical Hound, after a friend gave him to me!
Seems, she fell in love, With this cute little "Puppy" with the long flappy ears!
Only to find out, his going to be a Monster (size!)   Cheesy

He is now, a good one person dog !
I can't go anywhere w/o him!  Undecided
If I try, he starts his "Howling" !
I once left him with a friend , who lives on the Gila Indian Res..
About three hours later, I get a call !
"Come Get Your Dog"   :Smiley
He hasn't stopped howling, since you left! and all of the Braves here on the reservation are getting their, "War Paint" On!
AND! Looking over this way !
     Now!
He's getting itchy to get back into the Jeep and Headout to the "wilds" ! (as am I )
Which, http://I hope, will be in about three weeks !   :Smiley

Bill, sorry to hear about ROADS! It's always one of the worst things to go through when loosing ones dog ...

Now we know why it's Bill n' Bugs!

djui5, what? Your dog did try to bite you? I've heared that doberman dogs are sensitive like Colly dogs. We sued to have a Colly when I was a child.

By the way, do you like Fleischmann trains?

Regards,

Christian

Goldfinger:
Send me an email/PM with your phone number and I'll call you to make arrangements!
Here's a perfect opportunity, to go with two, experienced TH'ers, and to be an actual part of the story !
No!
Talking to the "Locals" !
You'll have been there!
&
You'll have been there, IN (A REAL!) HAUNTED CANYON TOO!   Shocked
It didn't get it's name for nothing!   Undecided
Right above, where I camp, is a perfect cliff dwelling !
Dates back about 1400 yrs ...
As the "ASU Carbon dating" said!
On the beam above the door way, there's a name and date ...
"1872" I believe it was !
There's also a Colt 45 auto, laying around there SOMEWHERE!

Another reason I need to go back !
Wink   WELL! What's say ?      Huh?

As much as I'd like to go - I simply can't take off -willy nilly. I  have too many prior commitments to do anything this year or the first part of next year. Thanks for asking though.

Steve

It got out of the house, and didn't wanna go back in...tried to bite me when I reached for it. Damm dog. Not sure whatever happened to it. I think my roomate took it or something. I also had a rotweiler (spelling?) named Scarf, who "ate" a lot of other animals. I also had a dalmation puppy that Scarf ate one day. Bad bad dog...

Bill,
If I find that Colt, can I buy it off you for $75?  Grin  Shocked Shocked (I assume you lost it up there?)

Steve,
Sierously, all dutch bs aside, if you ever wanna go in to the Superstitions, I'd love to take a hike with you. I'll show you what I can. Dutchman mine or not, those are some amazing mountains. It's great just to be up there Smiley
