Here we go again!   You all just don't learn!

The WishSTick 2000 is the best.

Being I'm a bit short of gold to spend, going to build Homefire's WishSTick 2000. Homefire... What is the intrinsic value of the Duracell damper verberator? Never could calculate that very well and don't want the damn thing pointing at a Jewelry store instead of a gold mine....... Lips Sealed

Hey jrbirdmansc  I was prospecting up in Alaska many years ago when I ran across a guy with a electroscopes..He had found more gold than I had.  I tried it and did not like the way it  felt.. The Ranger tell was the same way when I tested the older model..Does the electroscopes work? Yes?Just like any tool you have t to learn what it is telling you..art

Thanks Art.  I was all set to buy one (Thomas) and try it out then I researched things for a couple of days.  I read Carls articles and responses among others.  It is sort or like Chiropractic care or other less than "scientific" pursuits. Opinions are very strong both pro and con. Right now I'm scratching my head with my credit card still unused.  I like beach and shallow water hunting better anyway.  I'm always looking for ways to improve my performance though which at some times is rather dismal.

Hey bnthere?I recommend  to everyone that they go to the dealer and get a hands on demonstration before they buy..I think that they are not a buy and get rich device..It takes time to learn the equipment. Just like any tool they are not an item that fits everyone?Just like any tool you have to find one that fits your wants and needs?I may like one size of sledge hammer and you another weight..Art

When it comes down to it the ultimate test is finding out how many of the users of these devices earn a living from them. I've never found one yet. In the U.K. there's a hoard found almost every week but never by users of Long Range detectors. A few buy them and they get sold on sooner or later.

Our water companies and gas boards dowse for lost pipes and it saves them a fortune on tearing up roads so there is something beyond science but very few can do it. I can't with a forked twig or the swinging rod type so I can't see any point for my going in for this sort of thing but if your local dealer has them for you to try why not. Either it will work or you can say its not for you.

Hey Blackhat..you are correct?I am a fair Dowser and also a LRL/MFD user..I have used 7 different devices over the years..they all found gold.
No I am not rich nor will I ever be..Probably because I am to lazy to do the work that is required. I will also keep on enjoying the only hobby that has ever paid for its self..Art

I don't know how many metal detectors there are in the world, a million? I know about a half-dozen LRL users and none of them are full-time cache hunters. I know one person who "made a living" with a metal detector for a while many years ago in the Bahamas. He uses LRL's now. Come to think of it, I don't know a single person who makes minimum wage with a metal detector, but I'm sure there are some who have access to a good beach. Not too many of those here in Montana. That's the nature of cache hunting, probably the most challenging occupation in the world. As for myself and the LRL users I know, the motto is "Don't leave home with it." The idea of cache hunting without an LRL is something I cannot comprehend.

I've been making a living with metal detectors for over 28 years and have detected over twenty countries. Still can't find anything with these "non standard" means.

Isn't the reward for demonstrating LRL's still up for grabs ?
