Coil weight is only 990grams
The frequency is 12.5 KhZ
Max depth is 4m (on the depth chart in the manual it goes from target diameter coin 16.5mm at depth of 23cm all the way to 60cmX60cm at 155cm depth) that is the ratio as it gets deeper

Interesting.. as I am reading it.. you move the coil over the ground untill you get a "hit" then you back off and place the coil over the target wile pressing the scan button  on the joystick and then it tells you what it is.. ferrous, non, or void!...ahhh so it charges the earth and then reads the fields left behind  on the next pass..oh I see how they get away with it being so sensitive and so deep...  This also explains the ground balancing art!

So it is designed to find a penny at 9inches or a Roman shield at 4m

What really interests me is the ability to detect voids...

Very cool. If this machine does well in field tests, it may be a low-cost alternative to the Nokta Golden Gate (which is currently on my list of wants).

According to one member here Hobbyist and a couple of blogs and articles on the net.  Nokta and Makro Group (makers of Jeotech) used to be under the same roof.  Now Makro group is like "Paul's Design" from American Chopper.  Had differences with his Dad and decided to start his own company.

That being said, I do think (and hope) this is a lower price alternative to the Gold King

I have my trench shovel, empty containers, box of junk metal and bag of coins ready to test this unit!

Oh hey that's you!...So that is correct in saying they used to be under the same roof?

Well my first test will be 2 feet down with a fist full of silver.  Then it will be the void test... yogourt containers buried 2 feet plus empty and then single coins in dirt...then the beach tests..

We have a fairly large MD group out here, so our beaches are pretty clean... it will be interesting to find what the others have left or missed...

I'm not sure who or what is getting the workout with this beast, it might just be you.
Its a good job your picking some easy ground to dig,

Oh hey that's you!...So that is correct in saying they used to be under the same roof?

I got the info that Makro and Nokta split up 2nd hand, some years ago. And having sat thru a 20+ minute video by Makro, It kinda confirmed that. I say "kinda" because the video was in Turkish and I had to piece that together from the graphics (me no habla Turkish).

However, the machinations of corporate types in their boardrooms are beyond my knowledge. Makro and Nokta may have kissed and made up recently. I say this because of the following corporate profile (quoted verbatim):

"A Makro Grup subsidiary Nokta Engineering Detector Technologies Centeris foundet to investigation, production and marketing for Metal searching detectors from 2000. Our Metal Searching detectors serve to Earthsciences Under developing Technology with global economy.

Makro Grup Also Registrated ISO 9001:2000 Certificate from NQA"

So whether they are still split up or Makro is now a subsidiary of Nokta...your guess is as good as mine. It was easier to follow Land Rover changing hands again and again until they ended up being owned by Tata of India! Maybe since you are a registered customer of Makro, they might tell you something concrete about the current situation, if you write in to them?

Dude, I've been rather laconic in my past posts on this thread, but I tell ya...I'm really excited for u (I think most of us know the feeling when a new detector arrives in our hands...it's like being a kid at xmas/lunar new year/kwanzaa/hannukah...you know what i mean). The prospect of a machine that costs less than half of the Golden Gate (hell I don't need that onboard GPS!) is very thrilling. Like you, I'm hoping it performs as claimed, and then some! If that is the case, Nokta is in for a tuff time.

The following is pure speculation on the Nokta/Makro relationship. You know how those tv wrestlers scream murder in the ring and maul each other? When the cameras are off, they probably go off for a friendly beer and discuss the next show's script. Maybe Nokta and Makro are a bit like that like that too?

Man, I blinked my eyes and all of a sudden there is new land here. Kept checking yesterday to see if santa had arrived.... nothing. All of a suddden-tada!
Judging by all the bubbles, I wasn't the only one. Ok, now to get behind the wheel and see how she drives...... If you wouldn't mind, and I may not know what I'm talking about, Can you do a test in irony, minerally ground if you have any? Another fellow said he had one (and since you saw hobbyists comment on geotech you've probably seen him) where he says he tested red clay old swampland and it worked fine. Throw in a liberal amount iron to be sure.  Good luck on your tests.
Everyone is hanging on your words like runners for the starting gun. On your marks, get set, order one! Nice.  Now I just need another thousand. If you find your cache, can you spare a poor man a coin? Ha. Those that dare...... Cheesy
