I read what GoldDigger1950 said, and he is right, in that respect, however, with the software, I can also print a mask, and use it any number of times. And store the mask in a filing cabinet.
I worked in a printshop, in the 60,s, and have done my own photo printing, in B and W work, so doing photosensitised boards, is nothing new, in that respect. It is a bit simpler and less critical.
He is talking about marketing the boards, or the fully built units, of whatever it may be. In that case, it is wise to have the correct, repeatable process, and to have them made professionally.
For you and I, it is probably a one time event.
I could do boards, without the software, but it makes a quicker, and more accurate layout, than doing everything by hand.
I am getting a charge out of using pad2pad.
