Go Up Go Down

greetings Gates:

I've been working on a DBP for a few weeks now and I have a problem that one of you might have had and solved.  Xavier (a prince of a fellow) has been patiently helping me with it but we keep butting our heads against the wall.

To start with my first board was a piece of crap no matter how hard I tried to get crisp lines the more I was frustrated.  I finally got what I hoped would be pattern to burn on the board but to board came with a lot of the lines looking like they were fine mesh copper screen.  I tried solder coating them to insure a decent path but I wasn't happy with it and when assembled and powered up it wailed like a banshee and T7 got seriously hot.

So I went back and finally discovered how to get sharp lines so I made another board which looks 100% better, but unfortunately it still wails or more precisely it screams at min. threshold and howls at max. threshold no other adjustments make any difference.  I did as Xavier suggested and used a mega magnifing monocular and went over the boards to no avail.

If any of you have had this problem or similar I sure would appreciate hearing what your solution was, this is vexing me to no end.

TIA,

Dennis

Regarding BDP 2010 i have read a lot regarding this unit ...some say its a clone of DP/Sniffer XR... Is BDP 2010 related or same slighly modiffied? ...Did not see a test video on one unit if anyone made it...Depht test wise its better then DP/Sniffer if anyone can share their opinion? For coins did anyone run a test on it with smaller coil?

Yep just made a 280mm and 240mm coil at the moment my testing is done in air but I should be doing real testing by the middle of the week any how at the moment I get 400mm with a coin 20mm and a tuna can 800 to 900mm I will post the results and the coil configuration as soon as I am sure of what I am saying Ho yes the 240mm coil really was meant to be 230mm but it just so happened that I had a 240mm former. The 240mm coil is 2.7 Ohms and the 280mm coil is 5 Ohms Why well just to see what the result would be.
