Hello

Well i posted in the im new section.  I thought i would share with you a stone i picked up towards diaz cross, near bushmans river mouth.  I found it about 24 years ago, and always held onto it, thinking it was an arrow head.  so i tried to take some decent pictures just seems my normal camera goes all blury on the close ups so just used my phone the photos are not great.  Let me know if you think it could be an arrow head?

Oops forgot to say that its made from stone, and if i recall right i found it inbetween rocks, could just be a pretty shaped rock.

Hi Indibean ! Pictures are not very clear , but I think that is fossilized prehistoric shark tooth . I saw one which was size of man hand ! It was found by the diamond diver in the Namibia.

Hi Indibean,
Welcome to the group.... great to have you on-board with us..... I think Silki has hit the nail on the head with the tooth thing.... I have seen these and they are black in colour due to age etc..... If that is the case great find....

Howsit IndiBean
Nice fossilized shark tooth! I was told of a spot in Cape Town that produces quite a few of these,
as well as some extinct horse species.
Welcome to the group, please let us know where you are situated, what you are hunting with etc.
Also PGill is busy putting together a data base for a club type setup that we are busy with, if you are interested drop him a mail.

Ahoy

Thanks, found it when i was 6, just always held onto it. hehe.  Hmmm currently im not using anything, its why i tried to find a group to find out how to start with it all. I did get a very positive response from a person from treasurenet, he also gave me a website of a few South Africans, i will post it here incase you guys are interested - *think thats allowed*

http://members.boardhost.com/Tom1/,
he gave me some good tips on how to approach farmers to hunt on their land too.  I need to buy a detector, but not sure which one would be suitable to start off with, unfortunatly i dont have access to the beach, seems you guys find a lot of lost stuff there. Tips, ideas, would love to hear them. Once i figure out how to use my camera properly i will retake a picture of the tooth/arrow/prettystone.
