There's an article in Popular Science about this, too. This article confirms what I have been saying that the pseudo-skeptics do not understand how MFD works and make claims like "It can't possibly work." "There is no way the signal can travel through the ground for more than a few inches." "There is not nearly enough power." etc., etc. This article states that a very low power is used, so low there is no spark. And it can travel up to a half mile underground. You see it is a magnetic wave, thus it is called Magnalink. Also note Vernell Electronics invented treasure locating devices (now known and copied as MFD--molecular frequency discriminators) decades ago. Even the name Magnacast 5000 ought to be a dead give-away clue. BTW, this is nothing new. Magnetic waves have been used in communication for over a hundred years and I do not believe that anyone with electrical engineering (EE-but anyone can claim to be one) does not know about this. This is big-time deception to suppress information from treasure hunters.

I admit the key info on how an MFD can find gold is not here and I don't intend to post it. But you might be able to find it if you search.
