Well it does seem to hold it's own Bounty hunters are very dependable the price is good and when you know it well thats what makes a good detectorist, you can give an average detectorist the all singing all dancing machine and  give a good detectorist an average detector , and the good detectorist well always do better, excluding beginers luck of coarse.

I forgot to say WHY the goldbug is the fav.  Its got the most features and is the most sophisicated one I own.  I'm saving it for the gold camps in Idaho.  Until then for hunting aluminum the BH is the best BUT I haven't used the MP3 yet...I suspect the MP3 might be a "ping chow ding whey ying yang walley walley bing bang".

Detecting Hello everyone, I can only comment on one machine and that is the Whites metal detectors. I started out in the 70's with a 5000D coinmaster and found a bucket full of coins with it. Later I came across a 6000D and used it for years. This is still a good machine other than being heavy to swing very long at the time. I have found alot of coins, both silver and modern, some gold and silver jewelry and enough aluminum to pay for my habit if I had saved it. I recently picked up a Whites XLT at an auction for $300 and I am still learning this one. The coins I have found so far has been from 3" to 8" deep. Nothing major just cents and clads and one matchbox car. Ca'nt wait to hit the beach with it. I think it will be a good machine when I get the hang of it. Idea

Kind of new here but my favorite detector is my Teknetics Omega 8000. The reason is - it's the only one I have for now. I am planning on getting another one for my 17yr. old son. Gonna try and trade some ham radio and scanning gear for one.

How many people have pulled out their machine and did air test in the last week? You all got me to thinking, so I took a small piece of gold, my best coil and attemtped to get it to detect the gold. My 4 inch coil says gold nugget coil. It would have to be a pretty big nugget, and on top of the ground to find it. But I do love this bounty hunter.
