Hi David,
Glad you?ve got your board up and running, I guessed it wouldn?t be much, because it was working ok with my coil the other day.

Regarding the intermittent fault, try ?wiggling? (a highly technical term) the wires and components gently around that area, when you think you?ve found it see if you can find anything, but solder that joint anyway and try again.

Now that you have it working is it much more sensitive now.

Regards Mike.

Well, better late than never.  I have a zip file of Stripboard Magic.  It is a bit rough, but it still can be found by "googling" online.  While making sure that SM was still available, I found this site:

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like a good possibility.  I usually use ExpressPCB, but sometimes that is overkill.  Besides, I like stripboard even though it is expensive. Dale

Go Up Go Down

Hi Dale,
What I want to do is to turn my original layout shown on the first post at the beginning of this topic into a convincing ?Stripboard? layout for all to see.

I want to show it as it would look when constructed with the right type of components fitted in the right places, especially Capacitors as they come in so many shapes, sizes and lead positions.

I wanted to place the components as in my original layout. The only program that looks as if it will do a good job and look convincing is ?Lochmaster?.
The only problem is that you have to purchase it before you can see if it does what you want (the Demo is not very helpful). I?ve tried a couple of sites that say, ?free downloads? for that program all to no avail they don?t work.

I?ve recently been trying ?Stripboard Magic?, but the problem I have found is that you have to layout a schematic first before you can have any components placed on the board. Maybe ?Lochmaster? is the same I don?t know.

I?ve already tried ?VeeCad? that has no components available, I?ve also tried ?VeroDes? that is very basic with some components, but you have to draw a lot of your of your own components and at the end of it, it won?t look any easier to make than my original.

If anyone can help me please let me know, either on the Forum or by Personal Message.

Thanks in advance regards Mike.
