Hi David I've just been checking my front panel and have put together some useful info on the wiring of the pots and switches. I hope it helps with your wiring.(see attachment).

Sorry I haven't been around recently, but my computer went on a 'go slow' and I couldn't get out on the Internet its still not right, but at least its working sort of.

All the best Mike.

Go Up Go Down

Hi David,
First thing to check is to make sure you have cut the track in ...Column 18 Row 21... mentioned in a previous post, if this is not cut it will short the OV and -ve tracks together. Assuming you have used IC sockets remove all the IC's, check with a meter ?set on ohms? between the main power tracks, it sounds as if you have main power supply problems.
Thoroughly check with the ?Stripboard Layout? drawing that all other tracks are cut and the components are in the right place.
Once you?re sure there are no shorts between tracks, add  IC1 and IC7 and fit the coil, without the coil you will not get the ?ve volts, because that gives you the oscillations (about 10kHz) you need for the power supply, set you?re meter to read ac volts and monitor the signal across the transmit coil wires, you should get around 3v ac.
If you have this check you?re power supply pins on you?re IC?s.

Let me know how you get on Mike.

Go Up Go Down

Well spotted David,
I'm sorry the first post number 40 was correct column 18, row 20, a stupid mistake in post 137 I should have used a ruler I hope no-one gets caught out because of it.

Don't give up now you've got this far, write down the faults as you find them and tick them off once you've rectified them.
I'm sure if you give the details of your coil to ..Eugene.. he will be happy to help, he knows more about Tesoro coils than I do.

We've all been there and know what its like trying to get something working that has never worked before.

Stripboard is one of the worst circuits to make mistakes on, but one of the most satisfying when you get it working, because you know its all your own work.

Keep on trying Mike
