To be exact. None were found with dowsing. All were found with a sovereign. Some were located within a ft or 2 with a LRL.

Some had other items close to them, others were the only thing there.

Other pics have more items located with LRL, but recovery was with sovereign or Garrett.

I have NEVER recovered any keepable items with the LRL alone. I have made several recoveries with a probe and LRL but they were trash with anodizing on them.

Silver has been the easiest to locate.(next to cans with gold anodizing)

I am convinced that you believe that you came close with your LRL but it simply cannot be. Your research got you close. The LRL did nothing.

GD, you could be right. I don't have a way to be absolutely sure one way or the other.

I am going to try to post some other pics. It would be great if I was able to guess that good. Doesn't work that way at the casino. Wish it did.

Here's some of the areas I hunt in. Hard to believe I can guess where to go, as I have no info to go by.

nice finds, but i din't believed that it was found using lrl or dowsing, it's obvious that it was found using metal detector. probably a pi metal detector.

Never used one. Would a PI unit let me search next to a fence? None of my current units will let me get close to it. Haven't figured out how to shield it and can't cut it out.

Most PI units have only one coil and if it has a Faraday shield, it should be fine near a fence, assuming it is a metal fence. There are limits to how close you can get to large metal objects so touching the fence won't be something you can get away with. I use a tilt technique for getting close to a fence. I tilt my coil so that the edge nearest to the fence is up and the edge furthest away is down. That tilt allows you to sort of "peek" under the fence. Because of the angle, you do lose a bit of depth but you would anyway due to the metal mass of the fence itself.

The closest you will come to a fence will be using a VLF/TR with a co-planar coil. It's immune to edge detection.

Q: Is it possible to discriminate out the material of the fence and have a happy hunt ?
I thought some machines were capable of this ?? I think Fenixdigger is implying that the LRL
was partly responsable for the some of the finds
