It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi All ") just catching up on this thread and it got me thinking. With all the differtnt dates of coins recovered perhaps the conditions should be noted. eg, landscape, such as beach, park, bush...
THen there are all the differnt soils and structures.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the replies  Smiley My phone has gone down at home so I do not have Internet at this time.... Writing this from my office at work  Shocked

Competition would be great, and the prize..... the coins we buried, which by then should be very old  Grin

AU, can you please send me those results you were talking about? Or post them here,,,, would be very interesting to see....  Great

I think to log coins is a great idea, just not sure what results we would get, but could be worth the while.... I will have to think on that one.... maybe an excell spreadsheet would do the trick there...  Teach

Hi Guys,

A bit of feedback.... I am still without phone and Internet (stolen cables AGAIN)  No no! writing this from work, so cannot post photo's.....
Anyway, in the middle of the bush where no-one goes, somebody decided to have a @#$$ and they dumped it right next to my experiment  :Smiley anyway, they saw the coins and stole them, and also broke the stick...... So now not sure which way to move at this time.... But will post the photo's ASAP when I have a good connection again  Funny
How are the beach coins going?Huh? have they sunk yet?

That's a shame Peter.I guess there is thieving scumbags everywhere in our world  Club
Well only at the risk of loosing more coinage try, try, try again.Don't let these common thieves get the best of you and put a stop to your experiment, well at least that's what I would do if that happened to me.A good Ole booby trap came to my mind at first but then you may run the risk of catching or hurting someone or something that you was not counting on.Oh God don't listen to me,I'll have you in jail before you know it  No no!
Well my friend as I said it's a shame and I hope you get something else going soon.

Shocked And stole the mans cable also,oh man what's the world coming too.....  Thumbs Down
Man this just burns my a**  Club Club Club Club Club Club Club

Good luck Peter............

The trouble is that it may take years to get a winner. Like this one:

How many years before her nose falls off?

Look at the number of years between the drops.

Corp.security would not let me access the first link but I did get the pitch experiment.I think this is a great long term experiment but that just how I roll.As stated before that I'm a very patient person but that pitch experiment may be testing my patients. :Smiley

Peter I am sorry to hear about your bad luck, too bad u can't rig up some trip wire to something that shoots a non lethal bean bag or so rubber bullets, that would surly knock them on their butt's and give them a huge bruise to go with it.  Grin  Grin  Grin

It would Def make them think twice about stealing your stuff or comming onto ur property !

I used a 110v elec cord and tied it to a piece of metal screnning once , guy kept stealing gas from us , lets just say once was all it took never had a problem again after that  Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy
