Steve/Gold finder,

   a)  If you have a treasure permit from Phil gov't in Gov't land.....
        Percentage share:
        1) Phil. gov't........................................75%
        2) Treasure group.....Financier................10 %
                                     Land owner.............10 %
                                     Treasure hunters......5 %
                                                      ------------------
                                                                100 %

    b) If you have no treasure permit (usually in private land)
        1) Financier..........................................50 %
        2) Land owner.......................................40 %
        3) Treasure hunters................................10 %
                                                      --------------------
                                                                100 %

We have a law that states...treasure/minerals recovered in private titled land should belong to the land owner.....however if the treasure group have contract to excavate  treasure....percentage sharing is negotiable......There are no law in private land to require treasure permit...you only need construction permit if you dig a land portion that may affect your neighbors or disturb the water table...
If our treasure sites is in gov't jungle land beyond their reach....like treasure caves.....NO WAY we will give it to our gov't or corrupt politicians...

For several decades now....some foriegn groups (Japs, americans, europeans, etc)  have several  alibis or business front in recovering treasure....some put up a mining or exploration company, construction, they usually renovate for free (schools/churches that are former japs camp), road or bridges construction when treasure is along the roads or rivers, beach resort if treasure sites is underwater ...
The most common American treasure alibis are construction, mining, USAID (poverty alleviation projects donation) or Joint Phil-Am Military Exercise..., the Japs put up JICA (Japan Int'l Cooperation Agency) , business fronts like Mitsubishi, Marubeni, Matsuihita....all front for treasure hunting operation.... AND USUALLY FOR DECADES...THEY SECRETLY HAULED TREASURES...and GET AWAY WITH IT in cohhoots with our corrupt politician...
The most common ALIBIS for treasure hunting....are projects related to poverty alleviation....dams, bldgs construction, irrigation, schools, roads, etc... these are the usual treasure fronts that are seldom noticed by local folks...except of course by treasure hunters like us... Grin

Gentlemen,

Another true to life ...Japs treasure hunting stories....

Treasure Title: TREASURE OF MUNDO HILL
Location: Mindanao Island
Est treasure: 22,000 pcs, 6 kilograms gold bars
Note: Included in our files Mundo Hill treasure map and picture of the hill

Facts/History:

During early 70's, 2 native Chieftains, Datu Lumporan and Datu Makasasaw live within the vicinity of Upian Town, where a hill is located known as Mundo Hill. Unknown to local folks the two Datu are actually former WW2 Japanese Imperial Army soldiers (stragglers) who never surrender to the allied forces after the war. Both Datus are actually guarding big trteasure cache below mundo Hill, which entombed in different underground chambers.
In early 80's, a group of Manila based treasure hunters lead by a certain Mr. Morales operated Mundo Hill for several months. But the entire group mysteriously disappered and was suspected to be entombed in their digging pit. An unidentified friend of Mr. Morales who knows their treasure hunting activity, knows that Mr. Morales group had reach the bomb laden chamber and had been trying to evade or neutralize the bombs. But after that, nopthing had been heard of the entire treasure group even during floody and rainy season in the area, presumably they all died.
In 1987, another group attempted to operate the hill, bringing along a Japanese national Mr. Sensato, who bring a treasure map of Mundo hill. The group foolowed japs treasure signs found within the foot of the hill, the signs are rock horse head carving with an X sign, and next is an arrow pointing to a certain direction. The group dug a 17 foot deep pit vertical and change horizontally when saw arrow sign marker. The group hit an L - type rock marker that looks like a door with a 3 inches diameter, half meter wire, protruding from the rock marker. The group stop digging and consulted the japs straggler Datu Makasasaw, who happened to be expert in this type of marker, as if he buried the treasure. Unknown to the team leader, his fellow diggger, eagerly pull the protruding wire which resulted into hissing sound which resulted in igniting the wire fuse. Hearing those hissing sound, the diggers immediately scamper for their safety.
Suddenly they heard a big and very loud explosion, shook the entire Mundo hill, scaring the natives of nearby Upian town. The treasure hunting operation suddenly stopped for fear of another explosion if they continue their treasure operations.
According to datu Makasasaw, all the diggers should have done, is just to dig a detour of the L-rock marker with wire fuse. Since then the two Datus has passed away leaving the treasure unrecovered. According to Japs national Mr. Sensato, their is another secret small entrance on the side of the Mundo Hill, it is on its cliffwall side and goes directly to the underground treasure chambers. But due to lack of climbing gears and guide to the cliffwall side, my partner Richie failed to attempt to relocate the secret entrance.
Lately another treasure group attempted digging operations failed due to big rock boulders they encounter that seems to be stcik together or asphalted together. The group had an original map that states...1,200 horses was used in hauling 1,500 boxes in this area. The gold cache is around 22,000 pcs. 6 kilos gold bars buried several meters deep into the bottom of the hill.
A portion of the hill was purchased by our friend, the treasure is still intact...needs budget to operate...Mabuhay !!  Kiss

The movie "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" starring Humphrey Bogart illistrates the point perfectly.
