This is really interesting. Looks like no one has posted on this in awhile.
It would be really cool to hunt for some pirate loot.
Here are some sites talking more about this.
The first site the person says he was on the island and the second site shows an overall view of the China sea map with no cut offs this time, a bit hard to read still.

I believe that question has been on everyones mind since the hanging... fun thing to do on a rainy day with google earth  Smiley

I was never very convinced Kidd ever had much treasure. He wasn't very good at pirating by the sound of it. Fight

Go Up Go Down

There was a treasure supposedly recovered at the time. Kidd didn't take that many prizes and his crew mostly bailed on him. Not exactly a hallmark of success. Unless there is something no one knows about, which is possible, he didn't have much more to hide.

He offered to take his accusers to the treasure and they weren't interested, why? I think because they didn't believe there was one. I believe the treasure was a ploy to get more time to convince them he was innocent or to escape. Just my opinion though.

Maybe there is still a treasure out there and maybe not. All the maps I have seen so far are highly suspect in nature. Feel free to prove me wrong though. I'd love to see pics of someone hauling out a big ol chest of pirate gold. Heck I'd even settle for a gold coin in the sand Smiley
