Good plan , Viking ! Forget about Mojitos ! I will introduce you guys to Polish traditional drink , for which I am quiet "Famous "  between  my other friends ( and enemies ! )  - Be aware !!
Just got amazing book - very unfortunately - in Polish - " Treasures from the Battlefields "  I was reading it non stop day and night ! It is written by the young lady (!) of the name of  India , who , with husband , for the last 20 years is exploring all possible places of conflicts and battles in Poland ! And because we are placed between west and east , so for the last 1000 years there is always some war going on ! Perhaps I should negotiate with the author , and try to translate this book in english ? There is lots of amazing stories from the hunts and lots of informations how to research , where to look , how to interprets different signs and so on ! Plus lots of real photos ! Just cant post this photos without permission from the author ! But I am sure that picture of the book itself is O.K.

Pgil , hope that you going to England fully armed ? I am also going to Poland , later in the year , when grass is dead and mosquitoes are gone but of course my MD is going with me ! Hope to get some exciting places ( and avoid the Police ! ) and bring back many good photos and maybe something else ! Tongue

Hi Peter ! Yep - looks like guys run out of steam ! Xavier probably busy developing some new machine , Viking digging some gold rings in Strand or Clifton and others are hunting Kruger's  Gold ? Well , I am stuck for now - grass is to high to go to the field ( and snakes !) , but planning trip to Sodwana for Easter and maybe try my luck on the beach again ! Talking about snakes - Last night I was working at night in my bush hospital , came home around 11.30pm and find small " friend " crawling in my bedroom ! Fortunately it was harmless Brown House Snake so after few happy photos  it was directed back to the bush ! I just hope it wont became his habit to visit me at night ! No no!

Hey Silki,

Great hearing from you  Great Love the photos of the snake, they are fascinating creatures.... I am also battling with the long grass, today went to a burnt down house, but was full of nothing.... and black jacks  Shocked  There are not many places to go at the moment... but will carry on regardless  Wink
Xavier will be back in the land of nod within about a Months time,,,,, that will be great  Wise he has been busy doing his projects.... he reminds me of a professor..... In fact I think that should be his new name  Grin
I have not heard from Viking, but think he is pretty busy.... he does not sit down for long  :Smiley

Ridge Runner, great to hear from you... I will be going to Wokingham and to Northampton in the UK, it is to visit family, but will do some detecting  Great I left there in 1973 and have not been back since.... cannot wait to get there  Hello

Thanx Peter ! I am happy for You ! I can see that you are very excited about yours trip ! I dont think you will recognize old country after so many years - it may not be easy ! Regarding Metal detecting - I can recommend you very good book - if you didnt see it yet - " Metal Detecting - An essential Guide to Detecting Inland, on Beaches and Underwater " by John Clark . It covers some England sides and some other European countries - very well written ! Wishing you great time ! Cool

Hi Ridge Runner ! You are the Lucky One to live in GB ! Such a beautiful and old history with so many sites where layers of historic artifacts are laying on top of each other ! And , I think , it is the only country on the continent which is having some civilized law regulating treasure hunting and metal detecting !

Hi Peter...you mentioning England...I just returned about an hour ago from 10 great days of detecting. The group (12 of us), had 1 celtic stater, 1 gold coin of edward III or IV, it was bent. Another gold coin was found but not sure who it was on the coin. Myself, 7 roman, 9 hammered, and one of em was a lizzie half groat in great shape. This trip had the most odd coins that came to the surface in a long while. 3 squeat(?) or skeets as we pronounced them.
My trip was up near Norwich, a resort town called Hunstanton....Jim

On another note, my congratulations to Charle Schwartzel of South Africa on winning the Masters Golf Tournament. I'm happy for him as he is a youngster that was married this past October. Good to see new blood put on that green jacket for a change. Jim
