OK Tony here is what we will do First you have 2 accounts here one you started in 2008 under the name Tony that you used to start this same crap I am going to ban that membership.
You opened this account in May 2010 which the first thing you did was ask for money then you started to insult members. You were given a warning once it did not seem to help your attitude as you are still insulting members by claiming we are all  stupid and you are the only one that knows any thing. Sorry Tony 69 but I think you are just a troll or a young child on his mommas laptop I feel you should be banned but also feel that to be fair you deserve one more shot so this account will be moderated. If at some time in the future  you grow up and wish to act right and want to be here we can reinstate your account in minutes. Or if you find Kidd's treasure and become the most famous treasure hunter of the 21 century then sorry I was wrong. But till then good bye Tony

Seldom

Hello Tony

You claimed   the following in reply 27 on July 21 2010:

"On the reverse side of the document was a legal document belonging to Kidd's wife." correct?

Now answer this: Why would  Captain Kidd draw a treasure map dated 1669 on His wife's legal document? William Kidd did not marry Sarah kidd until 1691. How could he draw a treasure map on a legal document of Sara's 22 years before he even met or married her?Huh?

Your not suggesting he waited nearly 30 years to draw a treasure map?

You can see for yourself.

Captain William Kidd, Pirate, 1645-1701

Captain William Kidd married Sarah Oort 16 May 1691 in New York. Sarah was born Sarah Bradley in England circa 1645. She was married four times. Her first husband was William Cox, her second was John Oort, her third Captain Kidd and her fourth and last was Christopher Rouseby.

Sarah married William Cox in 1685, the marriage license bearing date of April 17th of that year. Four years later William Cox drowned in August 1689. John Oort was dead by May 1691 when Sarah married Captain Kidd. In 1701 Captain Kidd was sent to Newgate Prison in England. On 23 May 1701 he was hung for murder. On 4 Nov. 1703 Sarah married Christopher Rouseby. She died in New York City 12 September 1744.

[Source for the following records is New York City Wills, 1665-1707]

Now please tell me How could Kidds Charts be found in Furniture made after his death?

Are you going to answer those two questions or side step the issue again?

Hardluck

dont know much bout this pirate, but he was intentionally after every`s treasure originally amongst others.
lord orford head of british admiralty said no to a navy ship being sent out to hunt down pirates...so a syndicate was formed and the "adventure" was purchased. given to william kidd to hunt down pirates and cease their gains. he was also given a royal commision. he was recommended for this due to his part in the west indies in the war.
the syndicate consisted of ...the chancellor lord somers, lord orford, lord bellamont amongst others. (bellamont became governor of new york but did not take position til 2yrs later.
kid was offered ?50 for each pirate he got and ?100 if he got every. which jumped to ?500 the following year.
the adventure was 30 gunned 26/30 oar, 70 men, on arrival in new york he upped the crew to 150
the royal squadron.."windsor, tyger, advice,& venture spotted kidd 200 leagues west of the cape.
kidds 1st capture was the "mary" also an armenian owned quedah merchant, which yielded ?10/12k, he also took the "benjamin" yacht.
further along the line june 1799 he reached boston in the quedah merchant, before his arrival he heard he was proclaimed a pirate, so he deputed a friend to approch lord bellamont on his behalf. the quedah was disposed of, and his plunder placed in a safe place,by assurance ,and by a valuable present to lady bellamont, he thought he could face matters out.
also at the time when kidd was sent back to uk an act of parliment passed in 1705. enabling the crown to "dispose of the effects of william kidd,a notorious pirate , to the use of greenwich hospital" which the institution recieved accordingly
the rest of the info is mainly to do with the character of the man

hi idaho,
yeah your right with the date error, it was late when i typed it in.
the source is from a book i read from guttenburg.org (well 2 books in one)
title, the pirates of malabar , and an english woman in india two hundred years ago
author, colnel john biddulph
written 1907
the author wrote the following (which helps put some authentication to its original source)
"to mr william foster, of the indian office, i am especially indebted for aid in directing my attention to old documents that would otherwise have escaped notice, and who has generously placed at my disposal some of the results from his own researches into the history of the company in the seventeenth centuary, as yet unpublished"
i definately recommend that you download it, the amount of info and timeline of who was where and the amount of pirates along that coast is massive. very interesting reading.hope you enjoy.
